About the Course
This intense hands-on 6 month course explores a decisive moment in the pre-production stage of the animation workflow - translating the screenplay into a visual storyboard. The course discusses diverse aspects of storyboarding from script to screen. It will give the student a comprehensive learning immersion into the importance of digital storyboarding, the basic terminology used in professional production and also expose the learner to different types of narrative traditions. It will enable them to be thoroughbred professionals equipped with the required technical, conceptual and artistic skills for the real world of the fast-growing media and entertainment industry.
*The course will be run in two parts - the first 3 months will be on campus at Datsi, and merit students who score 80% or more will get a paid internship where they will be working in a real world professional scenario at Zebu Animation Studios.
Learning Areas:
● Understand and apply key storyboarding principles in animation, including visual storytelling, frame composition, and narrative structure.
● Enhance abilities in sketching and drawing, focusing on character poses, facial expressions, and backgrounds.
● Gain skills in script analysis and translating narrative elements into accurate and expressive storyboards.
● Learn to use camera angles, shot composition, and timing to enhance storytelling and synchronize visuals with audio.
● Prepare for professional roles with advanced storyboarding techniques and real-world experience, including internships (for merit students scoring 80% or more in the first 3 months)

Shine Bose
Currently a 2D Animation Director at Zebu, he has a proven track record of leading studio teams to produce acclaimed animated shows across various media. Over his 24-year career, he has garnered wide recognition and contributed to numerous projects, including notable works such as Tommy and Oscar, Thenali Raman, Katha and Nutcracker, Horrid Henry, Return of Hanuman, PlayMobil, Gaturro, Pakdam Pakdai, Astra Force, and Super Sema.

Eligibility
No prior learning or experience in CG required to join this course. Open to all passionate and enthusiastic candidates who want to start their career in the CG industry. Minimum eligibility: 12th Standard.
Candidates should have fundamental drawing skills
An understanding of time based media would be an added advantage
